It is imperative each Youth Worker reads this book. Mrs. Hayes gives you a glimpse into the world in the girls live. You are engulfed into their world and have the opportunity to feel their joy, frustration, and pain. While reading the book, I must admit there were times I grieved along with the characters. She does an excellent job of capturing the different struggles of urban girls who struggle to maintain in spite of their circumstances. Many social themes are depicted throughout the book. She did an excellent job of illustrating the struggle of growing pains and letting go. The growth of the characters is evident from the first two books 'Ms Thang' and 'Urban Goddess.' Mrs. Hayes writes in a way that you become apart of the world that she creates. She understands our youth's voice and struggles. The book is an easy read and everyone who picks it up will not want to put down. When I finished the book, I wanted to know how their life was after high school. I simply loved the book! I highly recommend this book to you! L. Caldwell Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee –L. Caldwell
